  • Refilling process
    A technician will empty the extinguisher, de-stress the cylinder, and perform a hydrostatic pressure test. They’ll then refill the cylinder with the correct extinguishing agent and pressurize it with nitrogen.

     

  • After refilling

    A technician will test for leaks, reinstall the nozzle and hose, weigh the extinguisher, and attach a recharge tag. 

  • Rechargeable vs disposable

    You can check if your fire extinguisher is rechargeable by looking at the gauge. Rechargeable extinguishers will say “charge” or “overcharge” or “recharge” in green, while disposable extinguishers will say “full” or “empty”.
